Woman Watering the Garden Room, by William Banks Fortescue, about 1910.

The following images are the Garden Museum’s most recent acquisitions, works of art purchased as part of a grant awarded under the Heritage Lottery Fund’s Collecting Cultures scheme. They range in date from the early eighteenth century to the past decade, telling a variety of stories about and documenting the history of domestic and formal British gardens and gardening over that period.
