Grounds for Optimism; Designing resilient landscapes in London, 06/11/13
Johanna Gibbons and Neil Davidson of J & L Gibbons LLP, will join us to talk about their recent exciting projects, including their winning entry to RIBA and Vauxhall BID's 'Vauxhall Missing Link Competition' to re-design the public realm in the Vauxhall area of Nine Elms on the South Bank, and their approach to designing resilient landscapes for london.
Johanna Gibbons is founding partner of J & L Gibbons LLP, established in 1986. She is a Fellow of the Landscape Institute and the Royal Society of Arts and a member of both English Heritage’s London Advisory Committee and Historic Parks and Gardens Panel. Jo and Neil Davidson, a Design Council Cabe Built Environment Expert, have worked together for nearly 15 years and their strategic, regeneration and heritage work is mostly London based. They both studied Landscape Architecture at Edinburgh College of Art. The practice has completed many award-winning projects including the All London Green Grid, Making Space in Dalston, a collaborative project with muf, and recently they won Vauxhall’s The Missing Link with Erect Architecture, an RIBA international design competition ‘to create a striking new identity for the area in and around Vauxhall’.
