This workshop is part of the Garden Museum’s Branch Out programme, a series of free events and activities exploring gardening, art, floristry, plant science, history, design, and more!

Join artist and woodcarver Alice Ridgway for a seasonal workshop exploring the changing museum’s garden through craft and observation.

Begin with a short walk through the gardens before creating your own pocket-sized journal using traditional bookbinding techniques. You will make a botanical stamp, practise calligraphy, and experiment with incorporating natural materials through decorative stitching, handmade envelopes, and other embellishments to personalise your pages.

The session will offer a chance to reflect on the transition into autumn, and create a handmade journal inspired by the natural spaces.
