Urban Greening Symposium Part 3 | Gardening the Public Landscape

The Urban Greening Symposium Part II highlighted the need for sustainable funding to secure the future of public landscapes and its gardeners.

Urban greening projects succeed when policy, planning, funding and long-term stewardship are considered together from the very beginning of the development process.

Current funding models often put physical infrastructure above adequately support the gardeners and organisations responsible for long-term management.

Urban Greening Symposium Part 3 will host a series of workshops to look at existing models of funding and understand where they are not working.

We will look at examples of best practice that enables sustained investment in people, care and collaboration, as well as capital investment in infrastructure. We will put forward policy and planning changes that will inform improvements through these discussions.
