Volunteering
Our Volunteers are at the heart of the Garden Museum; welcoming and engaging with our visitors throughout the building or helping to care for our Gardens.
Our wonderful team of volunteers are enthusiastic, friendly and helpful. We welcome all applications from potential volunteers who wish to help support our various activities.
Volunteering is a great way to learn new skills – whether it is learning about the history of the building, hands on retail experience or how to look after the Christopher Bradley-Hole garden! We strive to offer specialist training and development opportunities where possible.
If you are looking for experience of working in a museum, have a few hours to spare a week or just love engaging with the public then please get in touch.
Please note that you have to be at least 18 years old to volunteer.
We are specifically looking for people to volunteer as part of the Welcome Team on Mondays, Tuesdays and the weekends. So if you are available on any of these days we would love to hear from you.
CURRENT VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES
We are looking for Welcome Team Volunteers to greet and engage with our visitors. Our Volunteers are at the heart of the Garden Museum; welcoming and engaging with our visitors throughout the building. As we begin to welcome more visitors, we find ourselves with more opportunities for volunteers within our Welcome Team. So if you are looking for experience of working in a museum, have a few hours to spare a week or just love engaging with the public then please get in touch.
We’re looking for Garden Volunteers to join us for our new Friday morning session to help the Head Gardener and Horticultural Trainee to maintain the three beautiful gardens at the Garden Museum. Volunteers take part in a variety of seasonal tasks throughout the year, including bulb planting, weeding, watering, and leaf clearing, working collaboratively as a small friendly team.
All gardening tools are supplied, though we recommend bringing your own gloves. If you would like the opportunity to develop gardening skills, meet local people and contribute to one of London’s most unique green spaces, please do get in touch: volunteer@gardenmuseum.org.uk
