This workshop is part of the Garden Museum's Branch Out programme, a series of free events and activities exploring gardening, art, floristry, plant science, history, design, and more!

In this workshop, participants will design and create a Valentine’s card inspired by Victorian love letters and traditional 19th-century Valentines. We will look at decorative elements from the era and use them as a starting point for our own designs.

Attendees will learn the basics of working with real gold leaf, including applying adhesive, and laying the leaf with care.

By the end of the session, each participant will have a finished, gold-gilded card to take home and a new appreciation for this beautiful and historic craft.
