Richard Sudell, a landscape designer, writes to Mrs Stockdale about the apprenticeship of her daughter. He suggests she obtain instruction in surveying, drawing, botany and geology. Miss Stockdale later worked with Sudell on projects including Selfridges Roof Garden.
