We have a treasure chest of plants in our UK gardens, from rare daffodils to angels’ trumpets (Brugmansia) now extinct in the wild. But we’re losing hundreds if not thousands every year.

More than half the cultivated plant varieties grown in the past are no longer for sale. Climate change, new pests and diseases and urbanisation mean the risks are rising.

Find out how Plant Heritage is working with keen gardeners and plantspeople to protect 100,000 plants for the future through the National Plant Collections and its Plant Guardians scheme and how you can get involved.

We can all make a difference to plant conservation, doing what we love.

With Plant Heritage CEO Gwen Hines and Dan James from The Field Nursery.
