Garden Museum

Booking information

Free. No booking required: first come, first served.

Please arrive promptly at 11am to start the session.

Age guide 2-8 years but all ages welcome.

All children to be accompanied and actively supervised by a parent or carer, who are encouraged to join in with the session too.

Explore different aspects of the Garden Museum's exhibitions, history and significance through dance and movement suitable for the whole family. Playful movement explorations and structured creative tasks are interwoven with facts and stories, creating a journey of learning that feels exciting and relevant. Expect a mixture of family focus and group interactions.

We’ll explore convention, garden design and group collaboration in this Charleston flavoured dance workshop inspired by Vita Sackville-West. We’ll devise themed garden rooms inspired by Sissinghurst Castle Gardens, try 1920s style dancing, and play with structure vs freedom as Vita did throughout her unconventional life.

Facilitator: Julia Korning, founder of Me&Baby Dance: Creative Dance for Parents, Babies and Children
