The Garden Museum is seeking to appoint two new Trustees to join our Board of Trustees and help shape the future of Britain's only museum dedicated to gardens.
Trustees bring their professional and personal experiences to our work, and are responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of the Garden Museum, as well as the fulfilment of its charitable mission.
We are seeking two Trustees to fulfil specific functions on our Board:
Treasurer
The Treasurer is an important role dedicated to ensuring that our activities, accounting, budgeting, policy and practices of the organisation are in keeping with its objects and aims. They will support our Director of Finance, and sit on an Executive Committee of Trustees which meets quarterly, in addition to the quarterly Board meetings.
Fresh Perspectives
We are seeking a Trustee to offer perspectives and knowledge which are currently underrepresented on our Board. The Garden Museum has spent the last 15 years researching and sharing the stories of Black gardeners in Britain, and this theme will continue to be central to our future; we hope that our new Trustee will aid us in this work, helping us to better reflect our Lambeth and London communities, and bring insights and experiences which will strengthen our commitment to sharing a diverse range of stories and perspectives.
