£45 Elizabeth David Cookbook Club with Angela Clutton

Book Tickets
Join food writer, cook, and Elizabeth David expert Angela Clutton for a special event exploring the life, writing, and culinary influence of celebrated cookbook author Elizabeth David.

First published in 1950, Elizabeth David’s cookbooks transformed British home cooking, introducing many readers to Mediterranean ingredients, flavours, and techniques for the very first time. Her influence spread throughout the 1950s and 60s and continues to inspire how we cook and eat today.

Over the course of this three-hour experience, Angela will guide guests through Elizabeth David’s world via lively conversation, a live cooking demonstration, and a shared feast inspired by David’s recipes, enjoyed together around our dining table overlooking the Museum’s Courtyard Garden.

To get the most from the event, we recommend reading, or becoming familiar with, at least one of Elizabeth David’s classic cookbooks:

  • A Book of Mediterranean Food
  • French Country Cooking
  • Summer Cooking
  • Italian Food
  • French Provincial Cooking

Guests are also warmly invited to bring a home-cooked vegetarian dish from one of Elizabeth David’s books to share as part of the conversation and communal feast. After booking, attendees will receive an email with advice on choosing a dish as well as food preparation guidelines which must be adhered to.

Ticket includes a welcome tea or coffee, lunch and a glass of wine or alternative.
Only 12 spaces available.

Open to all levels of skills and interests. This class is suitable for Adults 18 and over.

This event is bring programmed to coincide with the exhibition Benton End: A Paradise of Pollen and Paint June 2 to Sept 20. Entry to the museum and exhibition is included with the event ticket.
